Technical Writer: Part-Time Position

We are looking for a skillful technical writer with a keen eye for detail and a passion for technology to join our TechSpokes team. This role is pivotal in enhancing our product’s user experience by producing clear, concise, and engaging technical documentation, including WordPress plugin descriptions, feature lists, and comparisons.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with our product development and software engineering teams to gain a deep understanding of the product features and technical specifications.
  • Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is tailored for its intended audience, including but not limited to user guides, API documentation, and online help content.
  • Write compelling and clear WordPress plugin descriptions, ensuring they communicate the unique value proposition and features of our products.
  • Develop feature lists and competitive comparisons that highlight our product’s advantages in the market.
  • Create tutorials and guides that assist end-users in navigating and utilizing our applications effectively.
  • Maintain and update documentation to reflect product updates, ensuring all documentation is current and accurate.

Requirements and Skills

  • Proven experience in technical writing within the software development industry, preferably with exposure to writing WordPress plugin descriptions or similar technologies.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills in English, with the ability to distill complex technical concepts into user-friendly text.
  • Strong working knowledge of documentation tools and content management systems.
  • Familiarity with the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and basic coding knowledge is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across different teams.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, English, Technical Communication, or a related field is preferred.
